Walk through my [Remotely] collaborative effort of cloning Monster India
After the end of Front-end curriculum at Masai School, we have been given the task to clone Monster job portal. I along with Anusha Ramadugu, Anant Jain and Bikram Jagdev collaborated remotely in other to implement the basic functionality of the portal.
Major Challenges
- Given the remote work environment, collaborating was one of the major challenges as the communication is very limited, and interpretation of things sometimes tends to differ in online communication.
- This was the first time we built an application using Hooks and Redux, getting multiple filtered data in an axios request was surely a challenge.…
How we worked together
We had daily standups twice one in the morning and at the night. On morning standup we discuss what tasks need to be done that day and assign tasks to each other. At night stand up , we will show our completed work and solve blockers each other that we are having. These stand ups helped us a lot to work in a flow.
Project Features we build
We implemented Login, filter jobs, search jobs and pagination features. when user enters our landing page, he can search jobs based on role, location, experience. on search, we will display the jobs available on give input. On that jobs, user can filter based on salary, experience, job type, role, city, departments.
Tech stack used in project:
The technologies we used to build website are html, CSS, React.js for front end and json mock server to store our data. We have used Material ui and also antd design libraries for design.
Learnings
I have learned, how to work remotely and collaboratively by understanding each other and learning from each other. Now a days , working collaboratively in remote is a very important skill.
